Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal chaired the 81st Review Meeting on CPEC to assess progress on ongoing projects

Islamabad: 1 July 2025: Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal chaired the 81st Review Meeting on CPEC to assess progress on ongoing projects and review preparations for the 14th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting, expected to take place in Beijing next month.

Minister directed all focal persons of the Joint Working Groups (JWGs) to convene their respective meetings urgently, and instructed ministries to finalise their proposed agenda items for the JCC within a week.

As CPEC enters Phase 2, it offers new avenues for industrial cooperation, agriculture, science & technology, IT, and socio-economic development. This phase is critical for transforming Pakistan into a regional hub of trade, connectivity, and innovation.

The Minister said timely planning, inter-ministerial coordination, and proactive engagement with our Chinese counterparts are essential to unlocking the full potential of this strategic partnership.
